I’m in Tokyo!

So I’m in Tokyo! I got up at 4.30am in Glasgow for the flight to Tokyo via London (the new Terminal 5 is quite nice actually), then got here the next morning. The flight had 3 screaming babies in the row behind (is it wrong to fantasize about punching other people’s kids….only joking!) and lots of annoying French folk huddled around the toilet area, but apart from that it was a relaxed and good flight. I watched ‘he’s just not that into you’ for some daftness, and it passed the time with some wine well. I didn’t sleep but it was nice to chill and shut my eyes which I rarely get to do.

So far only been around Shibuya where we’re staying, but it’s my fave place in Tokyo anyway with so much to do and see. Looked at random odd things I want to buy in Tokyo Hands and saw the venue that I’ll be playing. It looks really nice actually in a King Tuts type way. Sugoi!

I got to sleep at 10.30pm, awoke 2.30am and couldn’t get back to sleep. So, did some badge orders that came in (send home to my lovely staff at home to do) and some general surfing. I’m meeting Yoko from Uutwo Records who’s putting My DNA out today.

I’m hoping to go to Harajuku for some crazy fashion buying and if I’m not a zombie by later on get to Tokyo Dome. I love those grab machines to win daft Japanese toys! Totemo fun! I also want to have an authentic Japanese meal every day I’m here, so that’s another challenge! I can actually read and understand a lot more than I expected which is great.

I wanted to ask you 2 questions: 1) How long has it been sense you’ve been in Japan last? and 2) How much Japanese have you studied? I’ve done 2 years, and I get so shy when people want to speak to me. I always think I’ll mess up or I wont understand what they’re saying. Or worse when people ask “say something in Japanese!” I panic haha
I haven’t been able to take classes for a year now, but I’ve been keeping up with at least my character recognition by visiting Japanese websites and stuff.

Oh oh, 3rd question please- What’s an American bloke gotta do to get his hands on one of those とても かわいい Tote bags?! haha

    Have fun in Tokyo!
